| Material submitted | Prototype Enterprise Wiki using Confluence. Worklog 1 |
| Date of next meeting | 11/10/2007 |
| We discussed the concept of an enterprise wiki allowing for the creation of "Workspaces" to enable employees across an organisation to collaborate asynchronously on tasks. I spoke about the various wiki engine products that I had looked at during the week. The "Confluence" product from Australian software company "Atlassian" seems to be a good match for what I am looking for. We noted the advantages that wiki/portals bring over conventional document and communication management bring. I mentioned that I had had an informal discussion with a colleague who would potentially benefit from using the new portal, and that his initial reaction was very good. I had also set up a meeting with the Head of Operations and Technology to discuss the concept with him. We identified that the stages of the project cycle (specifically the SDLC) that I was most interested in were the requirements engineering stages. These would include Initiation, Planning, and Design phases of a project. ------------------------------------------------------------ Wiki-Based Stakeholder Participation in Requirements Engineering http://www.computer.org/portal/cms_docs_software/software/content/promo/s2028_07.pdf Transforming Ideas into Requirements http://swt.cs.tu-berlin.de/~mario/2007_MERE_FriskeJohn_Transforming_Ideas_into_Requirements.pdf Requirements Engineering: A Roadmap http://www.cs.toronto.edu/~sme/papers/2000/ICSE2000.pdf Understanding the Product Life Cycle: Four Key Requirements Engineering Techniques http://www.computer.org/portal/cms_docs_software/software/homepage/2006/019-025.pdf |
